Live from New York, It’s . . . Thursday Afternoon? I am on a vacation to Manhattan for the next two weeks and one of the best parts of city is the overwhelming inspiration I find. This week and next week’s post will be inspired by East Coast living.
New York is a melting pot for fashion; you will always see something new. One thing New Yorker’s love is their shoes and they are always looking for something that breaks the norm. So this week I bring to you a west coast company that expresses the timeless, classic, and fashionable east coast avant-garde style: CYDQWOQ [pronounced Side Walk].
Aside from the fact they are the only handcrafted shoe firm in America and aside from the fact that they’ve created shoes for over 120 years [WHOA!!], they still continually produce high-quality, statement shoes for men and women!
“The design in CYDWOQ is based on an architectural approach of modifying and creating new constructions while using a handmade process to create shoes that are timeless as well as unique. Influences in the designs come from nature (in terms of shapes used and natural finishes), architecture, automobile design (in creating lines that complement the shape of the foot) as well as old films (in terms of materials used as well as modifying classic shapes).”
Their shoes are made completely of leather. They contour the insole and outsole with the shape of the foot to make walking all the more comfortable. But the best part is that 90% of the shoe is manufactured in the their U.S. Factories.
Take a look!
Now I realize this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but their shoe selection is versatile enough to fit any outfit. They are top quality and with all quality pieces of clothing, they will last a long time. Take a look for yourself on their website. If you don’t like their shoes, the belts they offer are also a great investment. And for the ladies reading this post, check out their selection of heels, boots, shoes and sandals. All of the shoes pictured above were designed for men, but both collections are conceivably unisex, and the brave New Yorker would go with what works with their style than follow the pre-defined gender roles.
IF THAT WASN’T ENOUGH, they are socially conscious! Each quarter, CYDWOQ donates $20 for each item purchased on its website’s SPECIALS section to a designated charity.
Keep an eye out next week for some new inspiration for your appearance!
Until then,
Keep it classy.
The Guy with the Red Hair.
